Of Space and Time

End of October moving into November is a magical, complex time in the evolution of spiritual understandings. It is a time highly focused on the cycle of Death and Re-birth essential to all creation.

When learning Creation Spirituality, I was awakened to the idea that everything in Creation goes through a purposeful time of destruction, dying, letting go, renewal, rebirth. Humanity has the possibility of re-cycling more than once through this archetypal pattern in a lifetime.

Examples might include: best friend moves away, the loss of a baby, an adult child leaves home to begin new life growing into adulthood. A loved one dies. Your job relocates you to a new city causing you to let go of friends and everything familiar. Serious illness limits your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual abilities. These are all scary ‘endings’ we don’t look forward to, however, sitting with each of them, you may discover the blessing hiding in plain sight. Make a list of endings you have known and next to each ending write what has manifested to provide you with renewal, a beginning you didn’t expect or even thought impossible.

Late October into November is the time of harvest. What are you harvesting through your precious life?

Evidence in Creation: When a star has reached the end of its life and explodes in a brilliant burst of light– that event is called a supernova.

A Supernova can briefly outshine entire galaxies and radiate more energy than our sun will in its entire lifetime. This is death for the star. It is going out of existence. Talk about death as 'going out with a bang!’

When the explosion occurs, when the star goes supernova, it becomes, creates, the primary source of heavy elements in the universe. (See space.com)

There it is. Big and bright in creation. Death, letting go into new life.

Energy moving from one state of being to another through a catastrophic event.

Annihilation to animation - death to new life. Rebirth!

Stop reading for a moment to feel this reality in the depths of your being.

Ask yourself, what is my most recent death and in what ways am I seeing evidence of birth, newness, renewal in me, in my life? What does my newness, renewal, rebirthing look like, feel like? If you experienced a death, a loss, and you aren’t aware of the rebirthing in you, the renewal, ask the next questions: "Do I need time to let go and move through this loss?" Or perhaps ask, "What am I not seeing, not letting go of to permit the completion of this archetypal pattern into the freedom of new life, new awareness, new possibility?" Another critical question: "What pain is so important for me to hold on to that I refuse to release it and, in doing so, prevent my own rebirth?"

How long am I willing to hold on to the pain, to wait for the fulfillment of this process?

Have you wondered how we are connected to this amazing Universe? Are you aware and watching in wonder the images being sent to Earth through the James Webb Space Telescope? Are you filled with awe, maybe some fear of what will change in our understandings as we explore the implications of some of the discoveries through this deep space exploration?

Have you ever imagined standing on one of the other planets in our solar system and looking through a telescope into the night sky to view Earth? Seeing Earth for the first time as a light in the sky, a true part of the whole, a presence in the Universe! Yes, it is okay to ask the question, "Are we made of stardust?"

Planetary scientist and stardust expert Dr Ashley King explains, "It is totally 100% true: nearly all the elements in the human body were made in a star and many have come through several supernovas." We are amazing beings with Ancestors among the ancient star beings.

Yep, it’s probably a good time to pause reading and invest time in pondering the implications of being stardust, composed from several supernovas. Imagine how many Stars gave their lives so that you and I could be here!

Do some paging through the numerous images shared from the James Webb Space Telescope . Surround yourself with the Universe in which you are an important, significant being. Perhaps think about sharing your appreciation for all the sacrifice that was made for you to have a body, an existence, to literally be a child of the universe.
